Across these cities the yearly average high ranges from 24.2°C in Alexandria to 33.6°C in Aswān, and yearly rainfall from 1.6 mm in Esna (tied with Al-Khārijah) to 179 mm in Arīsh. The hottest city-month is August in Aswān, with an average high of 41.1°C, and the coolest is January in Marsá Maţrūḩ, at 17.0°C. By single month, the most rain falls in January in Alexandria, with 46 mm.

July is the warmest month in 78 cities and August in 17 (in 12 other cities two or more months tie); January is the coolest in every city. March is the wettest month in 53 cities, January in 23, February in 20, December in 3, November in 2 and October in 1 (in 5 other cities two or more months tie); July is the driest in 1 city and August in 1 (in 105 other cities two or more months tie). Of these cities, all have a month with under 1 mm of rain; none has a month with an average high below 2.0°C or a month with more than 300 mm of rain.
