The hottest city-month is May in Panzos, with an average high of 31.7°C, and the coolest is November in Totonicapán, at 18.5°C. By single month, the most rain falls in September in Coatepeque, with 629 mm, and the least in January in Jutiapa, with 1.6 mm.

April is the warmest month in 13 cities, March in 8 and May in 2; November is the coolest in 9 cities, October in 7 and January in 3 (in 4 other cities two or more months tie). June is the wettest month in 11 cities, September in 10, May in 1 and November in 1; February is the driest in 13 cities, January in 9 and April in 1. Of these cities, 13 have a month with more than 300 mm of rain; none has a month with an average high below 2.0°C or a month with under 1 mm of rain.
